Urgent need to revive Osun State Cooperative College Odeomu, An Open Letter to the State Government of Osun By:Raji Hammed Adekunle

Dear Governor Gboyega Oyetola,

'When silence is no more golden' then there is an urgent need to consult the necessary office. And as far as the State of Osun is concerned, you occupy the highest position therefore you're in the best position to receive this letter, your Excellency.

In my local community, Odeomu, is a State Institution named "Osun State Cooperative College", owned and controlled by the state specifically under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, founded  to reduce the rate of illiteracy and poverty among the people through the industrial education being giving to the students. It was on this aim i grew up to meet the school, living towards its standard and expectation, until the unexpected happened.

On the commercial aspect, the institution used to house students from different communities across the Nation thereby directly increasing the revenue generation of the state and indirectly influencing the economic condition of the host community in many aspects.

The 'unexpected' i mentioned above signifies the present condition of the institution; pitiable, demonic, dilapidated, and near ruin. In term of infrastructures, the old structure has lost its form thereby very dangerous to house students, not to talk  of using it to pass knowledge to the learners.  This among other things, has  made it absolutely impossible  admission of new set of students and equally there is no sufficient tutors ,put in place to cater for the education even if there are learners.

The school for the past eight (8) years has not received any attention as the case maybe from the government in term of infrastructural development, provision of learning aids, donation of modern learning facilities, equipment of the library and improving the working condition of the staffs among other necessary things necessary for a functioning and productive institution of learning.

Believing that you have come most especially this time to serve the masses through creation of enabling environment to improve their social, religious, economic, cultural and academic life, it is on this note i passionately write your office to kindly, as a matter of urgency and exigency , look into this matter and give necessary directives that will shape and reshape the condition of the institution.
